LABORATORY INSTRUCTOR (BAND LEVEL 10)

DUTIES
The Laboratory Instructor will be responsible for preparing and delivering first-year laboratory classes in the Chemistry programs and collaborating with faculty on second-, third- and fourth-year Chemistry and Environmental Science courses. Duties include instructing students and supporting them in the development of practical laboratory skills; grading lab reports; assisting students outside of scheduled laboratory periods; researching and developing lab exercises in collaboration with other laboratory instructors and faculty members; authoring and compiling lab manuals; and performing other related duties as required. Regular communication with the Registrar's Office and other departments regarding student lab enrollment and overall laboratory experience is a key component of the role.
QUALIFICATIONS
Considerable experience (3-5 years) in conducting chemistry laboratory sessions; completion of a master's degree with major coursework in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or related discipline is required; or an equivalent combination of experience and training may be considered.
SALARY $73,551 - $86,281 per annum (CUPE Local 1615)
