ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
NL Health Services ? Eastern Urban Zone invites expressions of interest for a full-time (1.0 FTE) permanent Pediatric Anesthesiologist within the Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology at the Janeway Children's Health and Rehabilitation Centre in St. John's, NL.
The successful candidate will be involved in medical student and resident teaching. Through strong formal affiliations with Memorial University, and on the recommendation of the Discipline Chair, the successful candidate may be eligible for a clinical faculty appointment in the Academic Department of Pediatrics and may be expected to participate in collaborative research activities and scholarship.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Anesthesiology (or equivalent) with completed fellowship training in Pediatric Anesthesia
- Experience working in a tertiary care setting with neonatal cases and ability to perform call independently
- Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador (www.cpsnl.ca)
- Eligible for membership of the medical staff of NL Health Services
- Must satisfy credentialing requirements of NL Health Services including a satisfactory criminal record check and vulnerable sector check
- Demonstrates commitment to patient-focused care and evidence-based practice
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide comprehensive pediatric anesthesiology services within the Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology at the Janeway
- Manage neonatal and complex pediatric cases in a tertiary care setting
- Provide independent on-call coverage as required
- Participate in medical student and resident teaching through the MUNL affiliation
- Contribute to collaborative research activities and scholarship
- Support person- and family-centered care; promote patient and worker safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks, and implementing improvements
REMUNERATION
Remuneration will be in accordance with the Pediatric Anesthesia Alternate Payment Plan (APP).
