About the Role:
To provide clinical assessments, diagnoses, and therapeutic interventions necessary for preschool children with developmental and behavioural concerns, including developmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorder. Services are delivered through an interdisciplinary approach in a community-based setting.
The incumbent is responsible for participating in the development, implementation and evaluation of programs in Developmental Psychology, including health promotion activities. Must display initiative and an ability to work as a member of an interdisciplinary team and provide a coordinated and comprehensive approach to service delivery.
This position reports directly to the Regional Manager, Developmental Health and Adult Speech and Hearing.
Job Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited university with a Master?s Degree in Psychology.
- A Master?s Degree in Clinical Psychology is preferred.
- License and registration with the Newfoundland and Labrador Psychology Board is required.
- Knowledge and experience in assessment and intervention techniques in the area of child development is essential.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills are also essential.
- A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.
