Job Description:

The Product Owner, Direct Investing leads and manages multiple Agile pods for the Wealth Direct Investing line of business and is accountable for the delivery of features on the WebBroker investing platform. This role bridges business and technology, providing direction and guidance to deliver the right solutions to meet business needs.

The Product Owner builds and maintains strong relationships with partners across the organization, manages team capacity and delivery, and makes sure all solutions meet accessibility, regulatory, and technology standards.

Accountabilities Product Ownership & Delivery

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of multiple agile pods supporting Direct Investing

  • Own feature and epic delivery for the WebBroker platform

  • Work with Product Group Owners and other Product Owners to deliver on the product vision

  • Create, maintain, and prioritize product backlog to optimize roadmap delivery

  • Manage delivery initiatives and oversee development team (pod) backlogs

  • Participate in Scrum ceremonies and proactively raise delivery risk issues

  • Own and prioritize WebBroker platform defect management

Stakeholder & Technology Partnership

  • Build strong relationships with business, technology, and enterprise partners

  • Act as the link between business needs and technical solutions

  • Provide guidance on solution options, effort sizing, and trade?offs

  • Coordinate and negotiate solutions with other platform Product Owners that use WebBroker back-end services

  • Ensure on-going strategic alignment with senior management, providing feedback as appropriate

Planning, Risk & Execution Management

  • Lead planning, schedule management, estimation, and issue management

  • Balance delivery speed, cost, and risk while aligning with priorities

  • Clearly communicate goals and priorities to delivery teams

  • Develop impact assessments for key dependency delays and priority changes

  • Lead Quarterly Planning and provide regular reporting on progress, risks, and dependencies

  • Monitor delivery progress across all features to ensure commitments are met

  • Support client investigations and manage delivery risks and defects

Team Leadership & Change Enablement

  • Directly or indirectly lead and support technology and delivery team members

  • Prioritize and manage team workloads to ensure quality and timely delivery

  • Act as a key subject matter expert on Direct Investing trading platforms

  • Coach and guide team members and lead resolution of complex issues

  • Support communication and change management activities

  • Foster a positive work environment that promotes quality, innovation, and teamwork

  • Work closely with our post-production technology support teams and incident partner groups

  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, effectiveness, and operational efficiency

Vendor & Demand Management

  • Manage vendor relationships supporting WebBroker functionality and monitor progress against agreements

  • Work with partners to build business cases and assess platform impacts

  • Ensure all work meets accessibility, regulatory, and architecture standards

  • Work closely with Technology partners to promote reusability and scalability

Experience and/or Education

  • Undergraduate degree and/or product-related certification

  • 5+ years of Product Owner or relevant delivery experience

  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) and project management experience considered an asset

  • SAFe certification or experience in a scaled Agile delivery environment is an asset
