Job Description:
Reporting to the Associate Vice President, Compliance Monitoring & Testing Team, this role serves as a strategic partner to the AVP, focused on strengthening alignment, structure, and execution across the team. The Manager is responsible for improving how work is prioritized, coordinated, and communicated, ensuring greater cohesion, clarity, and flow across core functions. By building effective planning, reporting, and operating rhythms, this role enables consistent delivery, supports enterprise expectations, and helps embed scalable practices that enhance long-term effectiveness and resilience across the function.
The Manager, Strategic Enablement & Planning will be expected to lead and support the following activities:
1. Strategic Planning & Prioritization
Partner with the VP to define and refine organizational goals.
Translate strategic priorities into actionable plans and measurable outcomes.
Monitor key initiatives and forecast risk/impact across teams
Support organization of all quarterly planning activities inputs, help set team priorities for core functions – driving maturation and sustainability
Works independently and often autonomously in the management of projects and key activities and operational disciplines and develops strategic thinking/ planning in the execution of work plans
2. Cross-Team Coordination, Execution & Stakeholder Engagement
Lead cross-functional project teams to achieve critical deliverables.
Track progress against strategic goals, escalate issues appropriately.
Embed structures for collaboration across key team pillars (i.e M&T team, Central Services, and Operational)
Coordinate cross-org partners, align on decisions, build and support critical relationships
3. Communication & Presentation Leadership
Draft executive memos, decks, communications, presentations, briefs for Senior Compliance Executive audience (i.e. CSET members, VPs, AVPs)
Draft, edit, and finalize executive communications and briefings.
Prepare presentations, reports, talking points, and leadership updates.
Ensure messaging is clear, aligned to enterprise goals, and adapted for audience (executive, risk committees, partners).
4. Process Design & Continuous Improvement
Identify process gaps and design scalable, efficient workflows.
Standardize operating procedures across teams (meeting norms, intake processes, reporting cadences).
Drive adoption of new practices and tools that improve clarity and productivity.
Standardize intake, milestones, drive clear organization and structure across the team
5. Project & Program Management
Oversee planning, timelines, milestones, and resource allocations for key initiatives.
Ensure key activities QoQ are aligned to overall enterprise risk and compliance objectives.
Track progress, conduct appropriate follows-up with internal and external teams (SMs) and partners, risk logs, dependencies, support early awareness and engagement
Provide status oversight and coordinate follow-up on action items.
Support change management efforts across the team to support team maturation and sustainability
6. Executive Support & Decision Enablement
Act as a strategic thought partner, offering insights and options for complex decisions.
Anticipate needs, prepare recommendations, and summarize trade-offs.
Manage internal "air traffic" of decisions, ensuring the AVP's time is optimized.
Required Qualifications / Skills
Experience
7+ years in strategic operations, program management, consulting, or equivalent enterprise work.
Demonstrated success in cross-functional environments with senior stakeholders.
Experience managing complex programs, shaping process improvements, and driving change.
Skills
Strong organization, prioritization, planning, and execution skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication (presentations, briefs), including ability to tailor messaging to varied audiences.
Project leadership: scoping, sequencing, tracking, reporting.
Process design & continuous improvement mindset.
Relationship building and collaboration across functions.
Technical
Proficiency with productivity and project tools (e.g., Microsoft 365 / Google/CoPilot Workspace, project tracking tools
Preferred Skills (Nice-to-Have)
Experience supporting C-suite or AVP or VP-level leaders.
Familiarity with governance frameworks and enterprise risk environments.
Ability to synthesize complex information quickly and translate into action.
Comfort operating in ambiguity.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Business, Strategy, Communications, Project Management, or related field required.
MBA or advanced degree preferred but not required.
