The Senior Manager, Talent Intelligence is accountable for the design, implementation, and management of the organization's skills framework as part of a Talent Intelligence transformation. Reporting to the Director, Talent Intelligence transformation, this role defines skills taxonomies, skills data standards, and role-to-skill relationships to enable workforce insights, skills-based talent practices, and analytics.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Design and maintain enterprise skills frameworks, including skill definitions, proficiency levels, and categorization
  • Establish standards and principles for skills identification, normalization, and reuse across roles and functions
  • Ensure skills frameworks align with job architecture, career frameworks, and business capability models
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Lead the mapping of skills to roles, job families, and career levels in partnership with the Job Architecture Lead
  • Define methodologies for identifying critical, adjacent, and emerging skills
  • Ensure role-to-skill mappings support hiring, development, mobility, and workforce planning use cases
  • Partner with Talent Intelligence, Workforce Planning, and Analytics teams to enable skills-based insights and reporting
  • Support the integration of skills data into HR systems and talent intelligence platforms
  • Ensure skills data quality, consistency, and usability across downstream processes
  • Work closely with HR, Learning, Talent, Rewards, and business stakeholders to validate skills requirements and priorities
  • Provide subject matter expertise on skills frameworks and skills-based practices
  • Support leaders and HR partners in understanding and applying skills data
  • Establish governance for skills creation, modification, and retirement
  • Maintain documentation, standards, and guidance related to skills frameworks
  • Monitor skills relevance and recommend updates based on business, market, or technology changes
  • Support change and adoption activities related to skills-based practices
  • Contribute to training materials and enablement for HR and leaders
  • Support pilots and phased rollouts of skills initiatives
  • Work within established job architecture and governance frameworks
  • Manage complexity related to evolving skills, emerging roles, and varying stakeholder needs
  • Create an environment in which their team pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • Deep industry knowledge in banking and financial services, an asset
  • Experience with a variety of HR systems
  • Proven ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others across business units, functional departments, geographies and disciplines.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
  • 5–8 years of experience in skills strategy, workforce planning, talent intelligence, learning, or HR transformation
  • Experience designing or implementing skills frameworks or taxonomies
  • Experience supporting enterprise HR or talent technology initiatives
  • Bilingual Language skills English/Spanish both written and spoken is considered a strong asset.
