The role:

Contributes to the overall success of the Global Payments and Cash Management Engineering teams in Canada and globally ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

What will you do?

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for UI and API using Robot Framework, Selenium, and Postman.
  • Ensure minimum 80% test coverage across all features to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers and product teams to achieve comprehensive test coverage and align on quality goals.
  • Execute automated test suites, analyze results, and identify defects, performance bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
  • Integrate automated tests into continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to support rapid and reliable deployments.
  • Maintain and enhance the application-wide regression test suite to ensure stability across releases.
  • Investigate test failures, troubleshoot issues, and provide actionable insights to improve application reliability and performance.
  • Champion quality practices by applying industry best practices in test automation and software testing methodologies.
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

What do you need to succeed?

  • Undergraduate in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other STEM fields
  • 3+ years of experience in automated testing within complex environments
  • Proficient in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript)
  • Hands-on experience with Selenium, Robot, Postman, and related tools
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented
  • Ability to interact with cross-functional teams
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Good analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
