Purpose
Contributes to the overall success of Client Management API team ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives. Performs QE activities to support API transformation and modernization. Ensures all QE activities conducted follow governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
- Be an advocate for quality in the project lifecycle.
- Own end to end automated and manual API testing including writing moderate to complex code/ scripts to test systems.
- Design, develop and maintain a modular, extensible, and reusable test automation framework across the Customer API life cycle.
- Be an expert in testing APIs with experience in using tools such as Postman or other industry leading tools
- Collaborate closely with other team members especially engineers and BSEs to develop test approach that effectively covers the functional performance characteristics of features in the applications.
- Collaborate with Delivery Lead to plan milestones, successfully execute software delivery, and escalate issues as needed.
- Report defects and work closely with the team so that solutions can be determined, prioritized, and scheduled.
- Conduct root cause analysis of post-production issues and plan to prevent them in future.
- Have in-depth and up-to-date understanding of the organization's products, applications, systems, environments, processes and tools.
- Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering, or related field preferred
- 5+ years of Quality Engineering experience preferably in banking environment and solid working knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Java or JavaScript), testing frameworks, tools (e.g. Postman) and utilities (e.g. Selenium WebDriver or WebdriverIO)
- Experience with API testing preferably in Customer data and Customer systems in financial institutions
- Excellent communication skills with ability to influence decision making across stakeholders
- Effective organization, planning, and time management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Able to work as part of a team and encourage both individual and collaborative innovation
- Positive and resilient personality - Able to embrace feedback and have a desire for continuous iteration and improvement
- Must have: Strong Experience with API testing and automation frameworks
