What is the Opportunity?

The Solution Acceleration & Innovation (SA&I) team strives to position RBC as a global leader in innovation, with a focus on emerging technologies. We bring products from ideation to client-facing launch, enabling our clients to experience the newest and most innovative banking features while gathering real customer feedback before they scale.

As Director, Product Innovation, you serve as the bridge between transforming emerging technology ideas into tangible, market-ready products. Working with cross-functional stakeholders, you are responsible for leading and implementing product strategies across a variety of SA&I assets.

The Director will drive the development of AI-powered solutions to redefine the future of retail banking, contributing to product vision, strategy, and roadmaps. They will oversee a suite of projects, maintain product accountability, and collaborate across retail banking LOBs to source and validate ideas, build prototypes, and launch scalable products using responsible AI to enhance discoverability and engagement with RBC banking products.

What will you do?

  • Define product vision, strategy, and roadmaps, and lead the team through all phases of the product life cycle, from ideation to launch.

  • Identify market problems and design user personas to guide product development.

  • Champion product strategy and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Translate business goals into Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) and collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineers, designers, data scientists) to build products.

  • Influence engineering decisions and understand complex systems to drive product development.

  • Drive new features in emerging areas like Gen AI and promote the use of AI to improve productivity.

  • Define and analyze product metrics to measure and inform the success of products.

  • Stay current with advancements in AI innovation and agentic practices to ensure cutting-edge product development.

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have:

  • 8+ years in Product Management, preferably in a technology company, including managing roadmaps, building/launching capabilities, and applying analytical rigor to support investment decisions.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master's or MBA is a plus.

  • Experience guiding agile teams, contributing to product strategy/launch, and leveraging user experience (UX) knowledge.

  • Technical expertise to drive discussions about AI solutions, work directly with engineers on execution, interpret trending analysis, and balance in-depth technical guidance with strategic vision.

  • Demonstrated experience with AI and LLMs

  • Executive leadership presence with proven impact, influence, and ability to align stakeholders.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Understanding of retail payments & loyalty

  • Formal education in AI & ML.
