What is the opportunity?
As a key member of the Capital Markets (CM) Performance Management team, you will act as a finance advisor for the Capital Markets AI and Digital Innovation team—responsible for management reporting, financial planning, and analysis to support business leaders in embedding AI across CM lines of business and strategies. In this capacity, you'll be integral to identifying, tracking, and messaging Capital Markets' contribution to RBC's Investor Day commitment to generate $700mm to $1bn in value from AI & digital initiatives. Your work will also involve managing the monthly and quarterly financial reporting results for Capital Markets to ensure accuracy and timeliness, enhancing controls, providing value-added analysis, developing analytical tools and insights, and preparing presentation materials for the CFO of RBC Capital Markets and other Wholesale Finance Executives
What will you do?
- Act as a key finance contact in supporting the Head, AI and Digital Innovation. This requires the incumbent to assess financial and non-financial performance, drive conclusions, and present results as appropriate
- Manage the Capital Markets platform management reporting mandate for monthly/quarterly reporting and analysis cycles (inclusive of month end and quarter end reporting/commentary) for senior management, functional partners and external reporting utilization and consumption
- Provide insightful reporting and analytics on RBC Capital Markets' AI and Digital Innovation strategy to support executives in identifying business opportunities, monitoring the economic and regulatory environment related to AI, and facilitating informed decision-making
- Collaborate with CM Finance advisors to maintain financial estimates, quarterly forecasts, annual plan, and 5-year outlook
- Foster a continuous learning environment, proactively engaging on AI topics and issues to deepen knowledge and drive value-added financial and business analysis, and promoting AI knowledge on current market trends, the competitive environment, the regulatory environment, stakeholder focus, and business opportunities
What do you need to succeed?
Must Have
- CPA or Finance MBA
- 4+ years' experience in management reporting and analysis, and driving strategic projects
- Experience in business relationship management
- Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills, and ability to play a leadership role across a wide group of peers
- Experience with project management and ability to act as an effective catalyst for change
- Keen sense of numbers, target setting, and strong analytical skills with ability to multitask and handle high-pressure executive level requests on a continuous basis
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with a strong ability to influence stakeholders and mobilize groups to deliver on common goals
- Superior organizational, analytical, reporting, and problem solving skills
- Able to consistently exercise independent thought and judgment, innovate, and adapt to new tasks quickly
- Proactive and persistent in issue resolution
- Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills required, including experience with automation initiatives to enhance efficiency
Nice to Have
- Solid experience and understanding of bank structure, risk management concepts, and capital markets products and strategies
- Exposure to regulatory compliance, as well as standard setting and interpretation
