ACCOUNTING CLERK (BAND LEVEL 4)

Finance Office

Faculty of Medicine

(Full-time, One-Year Contractual)

DUTIES

Reporting to the Manager of Finance, the successful applicant will perform accounting and related clerical work in the Faculty of Medicine, Finance Office. Duties include processing accounts payable; assisting in obtaining catering preapprovals; preparing accounting entries; issuing receipts and preparing deposits; administering petty cash disbursements and reconciliations; ensuring appropriate approvals and verifying compliance with established MUN policies; maintaining paper and electronic filing systems; replying in person, by telephone, correspondence or email to enquiries; and performing other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience (1-3 years) in accounting and related clerical work; graduation from high school, supplemented by the completion of a three-year accounting program from an institution of technology; or any equivalent combination of experience and training. Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures pertaining to AP and petty cash, and in-depth knowledge of the Banner Finance Accounting System and Microsoft Office are required.

SALARY $50,294 - $58,998 per annum (CUPE Local 1615)
