JOB TYPE: Permanent full-time

SCHEDULE: Day, 8 and 12-hour shifts. Work schedule may be changed to meet operational needs.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS: Bilingual essential

JOB SUMMARY:

The successful candidate is a professional in mental health and addiction services. Their duties will include assessing and creating viable pathways for clients within the criminal justice system to access mental health and addiction services . They will interact and communicate with partners (justice system, health care services and Social Development Canada) to create appropriate pathways.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Member in good standing of the New Brunswick Association of Social Workers;
  • At least five years' experience in mental health and addiction services;
  • Knowledge of the mental health system as it relates to the justice system in New Brunswick;
  • Ability to confidently recognize the signs and symptoms of mental health disorders and substance use disorders;
  • Ability to work and make decisions independently;
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently to meet tight deadlines;
  • Ability to provide virtual care and use telehealth platforms with ease and competence considered an asset;
  • Experience in mental health assessments in a judicial or correctional health care setting considered an asset;
  • Experience collaborating with interdisciplinary teams (made up of both health care and non-health care professionals) considered an asset;
  • Experience in clinical research considered an asset;
  • Strong relationship-building skills;
  • Collaborative leadership skills;
  • Strong communication skills with partners;
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member;
  • Physical ability to perform assigned duties;
  • Good previous work history (performance and attendance);
  • Adherence to professional ethics principles, the Network management philosophy, and organizational values;
  • Compliance with the rules of confidentiality established by the Network.
