JOB SUMMARY:
The incumbent supports a multidisciplinary team within the Child-Youth teams in implementing single session therapy (SST) / one-at-a-time therapy (OAAT) based on the Stepped Care Model. The incumbent also provides clinical direction and coordination of services in conjunction with the initiative. The incumbent is responsible for providing direct services to clients (children and adolescents) with a mental health or addiction issue. In addition, the incumbent keeps up-to-date on the various community resources available and facilitates access to those resources by the client, family and natural support network. The incumbent ensures that professionals meet professional practice standards and follow the policies and procedures in force. The incumbent works closely with the clinical coordinators and the manager of the program to ensure that the model runs smoothly. The position's duties also include assessment, treatment, establishment of a helping relationship, crisis intervention, case management and prevention. These duties may be expanded based on initiatives planned by the Department of Health.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Member in good standing of the New Brunswick Association of Social Workers (NBASW);
- At least three years' clinical experience in mental health and/or addiction services with children/youth;
- Training on the Stepped Care Model as well as single session therapy / one-at-a-time therapy or willingness to complete this training within a reasonable timeframe;
- Good knowledge of computer tools and office automation applications or willingness to learn how to use them;
