Were now seeking an accomplished General Manager to lead our Mechanical (HVAC) & Plumbing Division, driving strategic growth, operational excellence, and a culture of leadership throughout the business.
The Opportunity
- The General Manager Mechanical (HVAC) & Plumbing Division is a key leadership role responsible for the strategic, financial, and operational success of our mechanical contracting operations, including HVAC, plumbing, hydronic systems, and building mechanical services.
Reporting directly to the COO, the GM will:
- Lead business planning, financial management, and project delivery excellence.
- Champion safety, quality, and client satisfaction as core priorities.
- Drive innovation in mechanical system design, prefabrication, and installation efficiency.
- Strengthen the divisions reputation as a leading mechanical and plumbing contractor across Northern Ontario.
This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for a strategic technical leader with deep understanding of mechanical systems, construction management, and business operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead divisional strategy, planning, and execution aligned with DNMs corporate objectives.
- Oversee all mechanical and plumbing project delivery from estimating through commissioning.
- Manage P&L performance, budgeting, and forecasting to achieve financial targets.
- Drive operational efficiency, field productivity, and quality control.
- Mentor and develop project managers, estimators, and field supervisors.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and innovation across all teams.
- Build strong client and industry relationships to support business growth.
- Champion DNMs commitment to technical excellence, reliability, and client satisfaction.
What You Bring
- 10+ years of progressive leadership in mechanical contracting, HVAC, electrical or plumbing operations.
- Proven success managing large-scale mechanical and plumbing projects or multi-division operations.
- Strong financial acumen including budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management.
- Deep technical understanding of HVAC systems, mechanical design-build, and plumbing infrastructure.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and inspire high-performing teams.
- Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or Business (degree or diploma).
- Executive or leadership training considered an asset.
