As part of our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and driven Project Manager for our Mechanical & Plumbingdivisions to lead projects from concept to completion, ensuring DNMs reputation for excellence continues to set the standard in every community we serve.
The Opportunity
Project Managersplay a key leadership role in planning, coordinating, and executing mechanical projects across DNMs client portfolio.This position oversees all aspects of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical system installations, managing project budgets, schedules, and teams to ensure delivery of safe, high-quality, and profitable results.The ideal candidate is technically strong, detail-oriented, and capable of leading field and office teams with professionalism and accountability. They thrive in dynamic environments, communicate effectively across all project stages, and consistently uphold DNMs standards for safety, quality, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Execution
- Manage the full lifecycle of mechanical and/or plumbing projects from award to close-out.
- Develop project schedules, budgets, and resource plans in collaboration with estimating and operations.
- Oversee field installation, commissioning, and quality control activities.
- Ensure adherence to project specifications, codes, and company standards.
- Lead coordination meetings with clients, subcontractors, and consultants.
Financial & Contract Management
- Monitor budgets, forecasts, and cash flow to ensure financial performance targets are met.
- Track progress claims, change orders, and contract compliance documentation.
- Identify and mitigate risks while maximizing project value and profitability.
- Review drawings, tender documents, and subcontractor scopes for completeness and alignment.
Team & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Supervise and mentor project coordinators, leads, and field teams.
- Maintain clear communication across internal departments to ensure project alignment.
- Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, and trade partners through proactive engagement and reliability.
- Collaborate with the Mechanical & Plumbing leadership team to improve processes and standardize best practices.
Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Champion DNMs safety culture, ensuring all work complies with OHS and company requirements.
- Conduct site inspections, toolbox meetings, and safety audits.
- Enforce quality control procedures and ensure corrective actions are implemented when needed.
- Participate in project reviews to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Planning & Reporting
- Provide regular project updates, reports, and forecasts to management.
- Monitor progress against schedule milestones and key deliverables.
- Coordinate with procurement and logistics to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
- Oversee project close-out documentation, as-built drawings, and warranty submissions.
What You Bring
- Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or a related technical discipline, preferred.
- Minimum 58 years of progressive experience managing mechanical or plumbing projects.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver projects on time and on budget.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, plumbing design, installation, and commissioning.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in project management tools (MS Project, Procore, or equivalent).
- Valid Ontario G-Class Drivers License with clean driving record.
Preferred:
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.), CET, or PMP designation.
- Experience in design-build, industrial, or institutional mechanical projects.
- Familiarity with estimating processes and cost control systems.
