Role Overview:

We are seeking a hands-on, technically strong leader to join their HRM maintenance team as an Electrical Patrol Supervisor. In this role, you'll be responsible for overseeing a small team of electricians and technicians, providing hands-on troubleshooting for complex electrical and automation systems, and ensuring equipment uptime and operational reliability in one of their most critical production areas.

This position is essential to supporting continuous production operations, optimizing maintenance practices, and enabling long-term improvements across the HRM division.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead & Supervise: Manage a small team of electricians, technicians, and apprentices working within the

HRM

• Hands-On Troubleshooting: Act as the first responder to electrical and automation breakdowns, ensuring

minimal production downtime

• Preventive Maintenance Oversight: Plan, coordinate, and execute short- and mid-term preventive

maintenance activities and strategies

• PLC & Automation Expertise: Troubleshoot and optimize control systems, with a focus on Allen Bradley

PLCs (Siemens and Mitsubishi acceptable)

• Electrical System Management: Diagnose issues involving VFDs, high-voltage drives, sensors, controls, and

industrial safety systems

• Documentation & Reporting: Use SAP to manage work orders, report maintenance activities, and track

KPIs

• Collaboration: Partner closely with production, engineering, and leadership teams to resolve complex

operational challenges

• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization, equipment upgrades, and

efficiency improvements within the HRM division

• Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with stringent safety and quality standards, promoting a safety-

first culture across the team

Qualifications:

• 3–5+ years of hands-on electrical maintenance experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing

environment

• Steel manufacturing experience strongly preferred

• Candidates from similar industries — pulp & paper, mining, oil & gas, or heavy automation-driven

production facilities — will be consideredTechnical Skills:

• Strong proficiency with PLC programming and troubleshooting (Allen Bradley preferred)

• Familiarity with automation technologies, industrial controls, high-voltage systems, and electrical

schematics

• Hands-on experience with variable frequency drives (VFDs), sensors, and safety instrumentation systems

• Ability to interpret and troubleshoot electrical diagrams, logic ladders, and control system layouts

• Experience working with SAP maintenance management systems and other technical reporting tools

Education & Certifications:

• 442A Electrical Trade License highly preferred

• Candidates with Electrical Engineering or Automation Technology diplomas/degrees will be considered if

they bring strong hands-on troubleshooting experience

Leadership & Soft Skills:

• Prior supervisory experience is preferred but not required — they actively develop technicians into

leadership roles

• Ability to lead by example, coach team members, and foster a collaborative team culture

• A “boots on the ground” leadership style is strongly valued — you'll be directly involved in

troubleshooting and problem-solving alongside your team

Shift Rotation (HRM):

The HRM follows a structured 12-hour rotational schedule with a combination of day and night shifts and two full

weekends off per month.

Shifts:

• Days: 7:00 am – 7:00 pm

• Nights: 7:00 pm – 7:00 am

Training Period (First 1–2 Months):

• Standard Monday–Friday day shifts only for onboarding, shadowing, and familiarization with HRM

systems and processes.

Post-Training Rotation:

• Week 1: Mon & Tue (Days) → Wed & Thu (Nights) → Off Fri–Mon

• Week 2: Tue & Wed (Days) → Thu–Sat (Nights) → Off Sun–Mon

This schedule ensures balanced coverage while providing predictable downtime for recovery and work-life

balance.

Team Environment:

• Reports directly to the HRM Maintenance Manager

• Embedded within 39–40 maintenance supervisors across eight functional areas

• The HRM team operates in a collaborative, fast-paced, and highly technical environment

• Two-thirds of their supervisors have less than 5 years' tenure, creating an ideal environment for

mentorship and growth
