PAL Aerospace is a proud partner of Airbus Defence & Space for the Government of Canada's Fixed Wing Search and Rescue Aircraft Replacement (FWSAR) program and the CC295 Kingfisher aircraft. PAL Aerospace is responsible for In-Service Support (ISS) ranging from working alongside the RCAF at 1 st line operations to performing 3 rd line, depot level, maintenance at the PAL Aerospace FWSAR Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility. To ensure the continued success of the FWSAR MRO team, PAL Aerospace is currently looking for an Aircraft Maintenance Records Lead in Winnipeg, MB.

Reporting to the Senior Maintenance Manager and operating in the Department of National Defence's electronic record keeping system, Defence Resource Management Information System (DRMIS), the Aircraft Maintenance Records Lead is responsible for providing aircraft 3 rd line maintenance planning while maintaining oversight of operational and airworthiness documentation in accordance with the applicable elements of the Technical Airworthiness Manual (TAM) and PAL Aerospace Maintenance Process Manual and Joint Procedures Manual (MPM/JPM).

Responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Ownership of the aircraft record set while the aircraft is in the custody of the MRO, ensuring adherence to applicable policies and procedures;
  • Review entry and closure of all completed aircraft work packages for accuracy and completeness;
  • Prepare scheduled and unscheduled maintenance documentation and associated maintenance control documents;
  • Coordinate the day-to-day operations of Aircraft Maintenance Records team and provide guidance to members of the MRO team as required;
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency and accuracy of MRO service;
  • Communicate and coordinate with necessary departments as required, including resolution of issues and process improvements concerning maintenance production and planning;
  • Lead the creation and delivery of presentations and briefings to PAL, AirPro, and Airbus leadership, as required;
  • Support the development of policies, procedures, job guides, and training aides, as they relate to Aircraft Maintenance Records, as required;
  • Create required reports to support maintenance planning and progress status tracking;
  • Ensure additional work scope, engineering changes, and planning changes are accurately and quickly captured;
  • Liaise with Department of National Defence (DND) representative to maintain aircraft record-set alignment;
  • Work collaboratively and effectively with other team members across internal and external departments;
  • Train new Aircraft Maintenance Records personnel and provide ongoing support to maintenance personnel;
  • Administer the Electronic Information Environment (EIE) and control the distribution of updated Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) for the CC295 Kingfisher aircraft;
  • Support regulatory and quality audits from external and internal stakeholders;
  • Ensure all publication versions are kept up to date and available to the maintenance personnel; and
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • 5 years of Document Management experience in a dynamic environment is required;
  • Advanced MS Office suite user (Excel/Word/PowerPoint);
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with a high attention to detail;
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills;
  • Successful completion of the PAL Aerospace on-boarding training (to be provided);
  • Successful completion of DND DRMIS training (to be provided);
  • Be able to obtain a Level II - Secret clearance;
  • Be able to obtain International Trade in Armaments (ITAR) / Canadian Controlled Goods (CCG) clearance;
  • Experience with aviation maintenance, specifically DND AMCRO and/or DRMIS, is an asset;
  • Familiarity with airworthiness principles and experience in the aviation industry relative to aircraft maintenance an asset; and
  • Leadership and supervisory background an asset.
