DUTIES
The Planning Analyst supports the Marine Institute's operational and strategic planning process and business development activities through their research, critical thinking, writing, and facilitation skills.
The Planning Analyst's duties include coordinating the Institute's annual strategic planning cycle, including organizing planning sessions and preparing reports on outcomes; identifying and evaluating potential research and development opportunities, including monitoring funding agencies and programs; leading and/or supporting the writing of proposals; gathering competitive intelligence; preparing discussion and briefing papers; supporting committees; supporting the Institute's business development activities; assisting with the Institute's institutional analysis functions; and other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Considerable experience (3-5 years) in institutional planning and proposal development and writing; graduation with an undergraduate degree from an approved four-year college or university supplemented with graduate course work in business or science. An equivalent combination of education and training may be considered. Applicants must be able to demonstrate strong written communication skills and presentation skills and may be required to submit a sample of written work as a part of the application process. Experience and knowledge related to the post-secondary education system and/or oceans industries would be a definite asset. Applicants should include a cover letter as a part of their application.
SALARY $68,525 to $80,387 per annum (NAPE Local 7850)
