Job: Bookkeeper
Location: Dartmouth, NS
Salary: $40,000 per year
Shift: Monday to Friday - 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Advantage Personnel is looking to hire a qualified Bookkeeper for our client in Dartmouth, NS. In this position, you will need to have 2 years of experience working as a Bookkeeper in Canada with strong working experience in QuickBooks and Sage. This is a great opportunity to gain experience with a respected company in the Dartmouth area. This is a full-time role.
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for the company
- Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of transactions
- Process accounts payable and manage vendor relationships
- Prepare and process payroll for employees
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
- Generate financial reports and statements as needed
- Utilize accounting software such as Sage or QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop to record and track financial data
- Support the preparation of tax returns and other regulatory filings
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or similar role (2 years experience preferred)
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in using accounting software such as QuickBooks and Sage
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of payroll processing and basic understanding of employment laws
- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)
