Heath Safety Specialist

Duties:

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health and safety policies tailored to manufacturing operations.
• Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), WSIB requirements, Ministry of Labor regulations, and other applicable legislation.
• Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across all production areas to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
• Lead engaging training sessions on safety procedures, proper equipment uses, and emergency response protocols to ensure staff are well-informed and prepared.
• Investigate workplace incidents, near-misses, and safety violations thoroughly, documenting findings and implementing preventative measures.
• Collaborate with management to establish safety goals, monitor compliance metrics, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate records of safety training, inspections, incident reports, and regulatory documentation for audit purposes.
• Promote a culture of safety awareness through communication campaigns, signage, and team engagement.
