Cronus Masonry & Exteriors is a growing construction company serving the Lower Mainland from Chilliwack to Whistler.

We are currently looking for an experienced and safety-conscious HIAB / Crane Truck Driver to join our team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable driver who enjoys working in the construction industry, operating equipment, and being part of a hardworking team.

Our work yard is located in Port Coquitlam, BC.

The Role

As a HIAB / Crane Truck Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting and delivering construction materials to commercial job sites throughout the Lower Mainland.

You will operate a truck-mounted hydraulic crane to load, unload, and place materials safely and efficiently while working closely with our site crews and dispatch/management team.

You will coordinate daily deliveries directly with our Operations Manager and will need to be able to load your own truck with a forklift. You will be picking up and delivering masonry and siding materials, scaffolding/hydro scaffolding, general construction equipment and machinery (forklifts, telehandlers, boom lifts).

The majority of deliveries will be unloaded by our crews on each site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a HIAB / truck-mounted hydraulic crane
  • Transport construction materials and equipment to various job sites
  • Load, secure, transport, unload, and place materials using the truck crane
  • Assess job-site conditions before and during crane operations
  • Safely position the truck and crane for deliveries
  • Follow all applicable WorkSafeBC, highway, and workplace safety requirements
  • Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections
  • Ensure loads are properly secured during transportation
  • Maintain accurate delivery records, logs, and documentation
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, site supervisors, dispatch, and customers
  • Coordinate deliveries with job-site personnel
  • Report vehicle, crane, or equipment maintenance issues promptly
  • Maintain a clean and organized truck and equipment
  • Represent Cronus Masonry & Exteriors professionally when interacting with customers and job-site personnel
  • Perform other driving, delivery, and construction-related duties as required

Qualifications

  • Valid Class 1 BC driver's license
  • Experience operating a HIAB or truck-mounted hydraulic crane
  • Appropriate crane/HIAB certification or training as required
  • Clean or acceptable driving record
  • Previous experience in construction, building materials, masonry, or exterior construction is an asset
  • Strong understanding of load securement and safe material handling
  • Ability to assess job-site conditions and identify potential hazards
  • Good knowledge of road and workplace safety procedures
  • Comfortable operating remote-control crane systems
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
  • Professional attitude and good customer-service skills

Physical & Working Requirements

  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Comfortable working around active construction sites
  • Ability to climb in and out of trucks and work around equipment
  • Ability to lift and handle materials as required with the crane and forklift
  • Ability to work extended shifts when necessary
  • Willingness to work occasional overtime
  • Must be comfortable working around construction equipment, materials, and uneven job-site conditions
