Security Operations Center (SOC) Operator - Vancouver Coastal Health

Securicare is seeking a Healthcare Security Operations Center (SOC) Operator to support our healthcare security operations across Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) sites in Metro Vancouver. In this role, you will act as the central communication hub, monitoring security systems, coordinating incident response, and supporting frontline staff to ensure a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This position is critical in a fast-paced healthcare setting where timely decision-making, situational awareness, and clear communication are essential.Duties & Responsibilities:Receive, prioritize, and dispatch calls related to security incidents, medical emergencies, and patient-related concernsMonitor CCTV, access control, fire and life safety systems, and alarms to detect and respond to security risksDispatch security personnel and coordinate responses to incidents across healthcare sitesAct as the central point of contact between security teams, clinical staff, and external emergency servicesMaintain accurate and detailed logs of all incidents, calls, and dispatch activitiesSupport frontline staff during high-risk situations, including patient escalation, behavioral incidents, and emergenciesCommunicate clearly and professionally with patients, staff, and external agencies during critical situationsAssist in coordinating emergency responses, including lockdowns, evacuations, and medical eventsGenerate reports on incidents, response times, and operational activities for leadership reviewEnsure compliance with site protocols, post orders, and healthcare safety standards Requirements:Valid BC Security Worker Licence (SWL)Minimum of 1 year experience as a Security Guard and 6 months experience as a control room operator/dispatcher preferably in a healthcare or security environment.Experience working in healthcare or similar fast-paced environments is strongly preferredStrong understanding of patient safety, incident response, and emergency proceduresExperience monitoring CCTV, access control, and fire/life safety systemsStrong communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with clinical teams and staff.Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (MORB) is an asset.Proficiency in using dispatch software and communication systems, such as two-way radios, telephone systems, and computer-aided dispatch softwareAbility to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced, high-pressure environmentStrong attention to detail and accuracy in report writing and documentationProficiency in Microsoft Office and security systems (e.g., TrackTik or dispatch software)Strong typing skills 40+WPM (ability to manage multiple systems simultaneously)Ability to remain calm and make decisions under pressureWhat's In It for YouFun Events Year-Round: From big celebrations to small get-togethers, we love finding reasons to celebrate.Collaborative Culture: Join a supportive, values-driven team where everyone has a voice and wants you to succeed.Training & Growth Opportunities: Continuous learning is part of who we are - expect workshops, micro-lessons, mentorship, and hands-on projects that build your skills for today and your career tomorrow.Purpose-Driven Work: Be part of an award-winning organization recognized for its culture of respect, empathy, and accountability - where every person contributes to making people feel safe.At Securicare, we live by our R.E.A.C.H. values:Respect · Empathy · Accountability · Courtesy · HonestyAt Securicare, you'll be part of a team that values collaboration, innovation, and employee growth.
