This is a co-op position, must be registered with a school. Job Summary: This role is to assist the Human Resources department in day to day activities and Environmental Health and Safety tasks in a manufacturing environment.Required Qualifications:Pursuing a University or College degree in Human Resources Strong communicator in the English language, both written and verbalProficient in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)Excellent organizational and time management skillsStrong interpersonal and problem solving skillsCritical Success Factors:Learn the business, understand the production process by walking the floor & participating in production meetingsAbility to work independently without supervision and with minimum directionAbility to work in a team environment and be both a team player and team leaderAbility to manage and direct subordinates on the day-to-day tasks in a fast paced environment Adopt a common sense approach to identifying and addressing problems and control weaknesses Ensure that all duties and tasks are carried out in a safe and efficient manner and at no time is the employee or their co-workers placed in an unsafe conditionResponsibilities:Develop inspection methods and procedures for use on the shop floor that are user-friendly and accessible.Maintain systems for the maintenance and calibration of metrological equipment.Administratively support the initiatives of the Quality Manager, including data management and tracking.Assist Quality and production staff with documentationConduct other special projects during work term as designatedMust work in accordance with Health & Safety regulations, Martinrea Industrial Canada rules, policies and procedures Must use or wear equipment, protective devices or clothing as required by Martinrea Industrial CanadaAbide by all Company polices including, but not limited to the following; Health and safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and the Martinrea Employee HandbookMust understand the six elements of the Quality System, Record Retention, Document Control, Non-conforming Material, Corrective Action, Preventative Action and internal audits as well as department procedures.Working Conditions50% Office, 50% Plant floor (PPE require)Constant communication with employees, peers, and managementOvertime as required Effort/Physical DemandsAbility to work on computer for long periods of timeAbility to be present on the production floor daily Must be able to lift up to 35lbs.Must be able to work with push pull forces of up to 50lbs. or less Health and Safety ResponsibilitiesMust work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, Company Rules, Plant Rules, policies and proceduresMust use or wear personal protective equipment and certain clothing as required by the CompanyArtificial intelligence may be used during the recruitment process to screen, assess, or select applicants
This is a co-op position and must be registered with a school, working with the Human Resources and Environmental Health and Safety tasks in a manufacturing environment.
This role is located in Woodbridge, ON, with a 50% office and 50% plant floor work environment requiring PPE.
Pursuing a University or College degree in Human Resources, strong English communication, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and excellent organizational and problem-solving skills are required.
Responsibilities include developing inspection methods, maintaining metrological equipment, administratively supporting Quality initiatives, assisting with documentation, and participating in special projects during the work term.
The role requires being on the production floor daily, lifting up to 35 lbs, and handling push/pull forces up to 50 lbs, with regular movement between office and plant floor.
You must work in accordance with Health & Safety regulations, Martinrea Industrial Canada rules, and follow the company policies and employee handbook, including wearing required PPE.
