Supervised Instructor Therapist (ABA)

Role Summary
The Supervised Instructor Therapist (IT) works under the ongoing supervision and direction of qualified clinicians (e.g., BCBA/RBA, Psychologist) to deliver high-quality, evidence-based Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) services to children and youth.
In this role, you will implement individualised treatment programs designed to support the development of:
- Communication and language
- Play and social interaction
- Motor and daily living skills
- School readiness and academic skills
You will also support the reduction of interfering behaviours using proactive, compassionate, and evidence-based strategies.

Position Type
- Full-time, Permanent
- Monday to Friday: 8:30 AM 4:30 PM
- Tuesday to Saturday 8:30 AM- 4 pm
- Part-time arrangements may be considered based on candidate availability and organizational needs
- Note: Part-time roles may not be eligible for full benefits
Location
- Primary location: Bells Corners / Kanata (Ottawa region)
- In home
- Flexibility required to travel between clinic, home, school, or community settings based on client needs

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver 1:1 direct therapy using ABA principles under supervision
- Implement individualized behaviour intervention and skill acquisition programs
- Support behaviour management using proactive and de-escalation strategies
- Teach functional life skills (e.g., hygiene, communication, social skills)
- Utilize alternative communication systems (e.g., PECS, AAC apps)
- Collect, record, and graph data accurately (paper or digital platforms)
- Assist with skill assessments and program updates as directed by supervisors
- Prepare therapy materials and maintain organized workspaces
- Participate in team meetings, supervision, and training sessions
- Collaborate with families and multidisciplinary team members
Supervision & Clinical Expectations
This role operates within a supervised clinical model, meaning:
- All services are delivered under the direction of a qualified supervisor
- Supervisors are responsible for treatment planning, oversight, and clinical decision-making
- Instructor Therapists must follow all clinical guidance and ethical standards
You will be expected to:
- Maintain accurate and timely session documentation
- Communicate clinical updates and concerns to supervisors promptly
- Follow all supervision, documentation, and escalation protocols
- Adhere to professional and ethical standards, including client confidentiality
