The Opportunity
Newlands Group is partnering with a growing organization to hire an Accounting Manager.

This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional who enjoys both managing day-to-day financial operations and contributing to month-end reporting, analysis, and process improvements. You will play a key role in supporting financial accuracy, team leadership, and overall business performance.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Month-End

  • Support month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of financial statements
  • Perform account reconciliations, variance analysis, and financial statement review
  • Prepare supporting schedules and journal entries
  • Analyze financial results and provide insights on trends and variances

Operations & Oversight

  • Oversee daily accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and inventory
  • Monitor spending levels and identify financial trends or risks
  • Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations across multiple entities
  • Support consolidation processes to ensure accurate and consistent reporting

Cash Flow & Compliance

  • Monitor cash balances and support cash flow forecasting
  • Assist with banking requirements, including debt covenant reporting
  • Ensure compliance with applicable financial reporting standards and regulatory requirements
  • Support audit processes and liaise with external stakeholders as needed

Leadership & Team Management

  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to the accounting team
  • Assist with performance management, training, and development of staff
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performance team environment

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • CPA designation or actively working toward CPA (required)
  • 3–6+ years of relevant accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting
  • Experience with multi-entity and/or multi-currency environments is an asset
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: $75,000 – $90,000
