Propak Systems Ltd., an established leader in engineering, fabrication and construction of gas compression, processing and Heavy Oil facilities, is currently seeking Sub Arc Welders to join our fabrication shops in Airdrie, AB.

Key Responsibilities

• Carries out mild and/or stainless-steel welding requirements for jobs, observing specific guidelines and procedures for welding
• Operates and sets up production welding equipment inclusive of cutting, gouging, and grinding materials
• Reads and interprets blueprints or welding process specifications
• Operates manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), plasma arc welding (PAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), oxy-acetylene welding (OAW), resistance welding, and submerged arc welding (SAW)
• Operates manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment
• Removes metal and/or prepares materials for welding by gouging and grinding
• Ensures all welding equipment is clean and functional
• Assists with the maintenance and repair of welding equipment
• Adjusts welding heads and tooling according to work specifications

Qualifications

• ABSA Machine operator certificate
• Grade C Pressure Welder Certificate of Competency
• Valid Performance Qualification issued by the jurisdiction
• 2+ years of directly related work experience
• This position may be required to direct, coach, and mentor apprentices
• As a condition of employment, employees are required upon hire to sign a Drug-Free Workplace Agreement, a Conflict of Interest Agreement and Confidentiality and Invention Agreement
