GEI Consultants, Canada is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to play a key role in shaping the electrical systems that power water and wastewater infrastructure across Canada. This is an opportunity to lead high-impact projects, work with multidisciplinary teams, and mentor emerging talent - while enjoying flexible work options and a collaborative culture.Essential Responsibilities & Duties- Lead the design and delivery of electrical systems for water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, and related infrastructure.
- Conduct condition assessments, arc flash and coordination studies, and other evaluations of electrical systems.
- Develop technical drawings, specifications, reports, and contract documents.
- Provide mentorship to junior staff and contribute to technical excellence across projects.
- Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
- Support field activities such as site inspections, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
- Ensure adherence to Canadian electrical codes, safety regulations, and client requirements.
- Contribute to business development efforts, proposals, and client engagement.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Canada, or eligibility to obtain it.
- 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering, including 5+ years in water/wastewater or municipal infrastructure.
- Strong command of the Canadian (CEC) and Ontario Electrical Codes (OESC) and related standards (IEEE).
- Experience in arc flash and coordination studies.
- Experience with design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical design software.
- Excellent communication and project coordination skills.
- Physical and environmental requirements for this position are available upon request.
- Exposure to SCADA, instrumentation, and automation systems.
- Familiarity with electrical systems in other industries such as oil and gas and transportation systems.
