What You'll Do:
  • Coordinate daily inland marine barge movements across facilities, sales, product management, and carriers
  • Participate in routine planning calls to align loading schedules, shipment priorities, and customer demand
  • Issue barge requests to carriers based on cost, equipment availability, and service requirements
  • Perform daily barge movement tracking and resolve delays or operational issues
  • Ensure efficient barge utilization and support improvements in cycle times and throughput
  • Monitor freight spend and demurrage exposure to ensure accurate cost control and reporting
  • Review freight, demurrage, and accessorial invoices for accuracy, compliance, and supporting documentation
  • Analyze transportation data to identify cost drivers, trends, and improvement opportunities
  • Maintain and enhance Excel-based tracking tools and reporting to support marine operations visibility
What You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3-5 years of experience in inland marine, barge logistics, or bulk transportation
  • Working knowledge of transportation economics, freight rates, and demurrage
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis)
  • High attention to detail with strong financial accuracy
  • Experience with transportation management systems (TMS), marine tracking systems, or ERP platforms is an asset
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally across operations, sales, and finance
  • Cost-focused mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Self-motivated, execution-driven, and accountable with a strong sense of ownership
