Who We Are
Employees of the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development develop programs and deliver services that support parents and educators while fostering lifelong, transferable learning among learners aged 0 to 20 years.

What You Will DoThe successful candidate will work closely with community partners, municipalities, employers, community development officers, organizations, school districts, early learning and childcare facilities and schools as well as Services éducatifs francophones teams to enhance identity building and the vitality of New Brunswick's Acadian and Francophone community.

They will contribute to the implementation of the Linguistic and Cultural Development Policy (LCDP), a true societal initiative aimed at promoting educational success, identity building and the growth of the Acadian and Francophone community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the implementation of initiatives related to the LCDP and the education plan of the Francophone education system in the areas of identity building and the vitality of Francophone education.
  • Build and maintain close ties with education system and community partners to promote a coordinated and consistent approach.
  • Collaborate with municipalities, employers, community organizations and partners to strengthen the region's linguistic and cultural development.
  • Manage funding for community organizations and groups supporting LCDP initiatives.
  • Develop and co-construct turnkey resources for partners of the Acadian and Francophone education system.
  • Promote awareness of the history of the Acadian and Francophone education system, Acadia, the Francophonie and the importance of the French language in a minority setting.
  • Foster among learners a sense of belonging, openness to the world and commitment to their community.
  • Plan and offer workshops, training and professional development opportunities on identity building, linguistic and cultural vitality, and unity.
  • Coordinate and support the provincial programming for Francophonie Month and Provincial French Pride Week.
  • Support activities and events that promote the French language, Acadian and Francophone culture, and civic participation.
  • Celebrate and share inspiring and innovative practices that support identity building, community engagement and the vitality of the Acadian and Francophone community.
  • Collaborate with those responsible for identity building within the school districts and the Department.

Your attitude, skills, and interests are just as important as your field of study. We are seekingindividuals with diverse backgrounds who bring a combination of the following qualifications:

Need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in an area such as education, business management, communications, public relations, social sciences, recreation, community management, community development, interdisciplinary studies or another related field and a minimum of five (5) years' relevant experience. An equivalent combination of college education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • Experience in developing, fostering and maintaining strategic partnerships with various organizations, institutions and community stakeholders.
  • Experience in developing tools, resources or initiatives that support community engagement and Francophone vitality.
  • Excellent written and spoken competence and facilitation and collaboration skills.

An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.

Written and spoken proficiency in French is required. Please state your language proficiency level.

Asset Qualifications

  • Experience coordinating projects, events, or educational, cultural, or community-based initiatives.

Salary
Pay Band 5 - $67,600 - $94,406 annually

Work Environment

  • Office location: Place 2000, 250 King Street, Fredericton, NB.
  • A remote work arrangement may be considered within New Brunswick.
  • Travel throughout the province will be required.
  • Teamwork is strongly encouraged.
  • Standard work hours are Monday to Friday, 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
