Job Description

What is the Opportunity?

This role is responsible for designing and developing conferences and events that align with company objectives, deliver measurable outcomes and enhance the brand experience. You will drive brand awareness, customer engagement, and lead generation through impactful, high-quality events that serve as a predominant marketing tool for developing client relationships, enhancing client knowledge, and promoting RBCCM capabilities. By advancing these functions consistently, you will contribute to the organization's continued financial success. This position requires close cross-functional collaboration with internal teams, stakeholders, external partners, and the Client & Marketing Strategy Team in advancing RBCCM's broader strategy.

What will you do?

  • Oversee the development and delivery of mid to large, complex conferences and events.

  • Develop and manage overall program execution including but not limited to: Venue selection, contract negotiations, budget creations, marketing plans, stakeholder planning meetings, vendor management, invitation/registration process, food & beverage selections, speaker arrangements, and on-site management and execution

  • Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and senior management by partnering on event objectives and strategy

  • Work closely with the business marketing team to develop a strategic approach to conference themes, keynotes and onsite brand build outs.

  • Negotiate and review vendor contracts and fees and reconcile budgets post event.

  • Develop conference & event marketing analytics, and provide strategic recommendations to the business

  • Create comprehensive post event reports to highlight key themes, attendance, and client feedback.

  • Managing ongoing interactions with Senior Business Leaders. These interactions will center on teams responsible for strategy, content and promotion of conferences and events.

  • Maintaining strong relationships with colleagues within the Client & Marketing Strategy Group, internal stakeholders and partners as well as external vendors will be important

What you need to succeed?

  • 10+ years' experience in planning conferences and events in an investment banking or financial services environment

  • Event Management Certificate and/or CMP Certification an asset

  • Strong organizational, project and time management skills

  • Ability to work with senior leadership, external clients and suppliers, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills

  • Strong team orientation, and communication skills (written and oral)

  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities, changing elements and challenging personalities

  • Expert strategic planning capabilities

  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of business strategy, brand identity and marketing, as they relate to events

  • Superior skills in Microsoft Office, and other industry technology, including Cvent, On24 or other virtual platforms

  • Proven ability to plan, manage, and execute multiple large events simultaneously

  • Considerable knowledge of speaker selection and contract negotiation

Compensation for this position (including salary and discretionary/variable payments) will be determined by factors, including but not limited to candidate's experience, skills, registration status, performance, individual goals, market conditions, and business needs.

Pay Range

The expected pay range for this position is:

$110,000.00 - $140,000.00
