What is the opportunity?

RBC Cards is one of the leading credit card businesses in Canada and is a strong contributor to RBC's overall Canadian Banking revenues and profits. The business has grown tremendously in the last five years, driven by our strong suite of Credit Card products and innovative strategy.

The successful candidate for this role will be tasked with supporting the development of credit strategy & modeling for RBC's lending cards. As the Manager, Cards Lending Product you will partner with risk and product teams, be accountable for the successful execution and integration of business strategies across multiple key stakeholders and be responsible for enhancing shareholder value creation. Specifically, you will contribute to the broader Cards business objectives and results by implementing credit strategies and build models that align with our product development goals.

What will you do?

  • Support underwriting model development to improve new acquisition adjudication by partnering with Borealis and credit strategists

  • Partner with credit risk to optimize our credit strategies to align with our business objectives and drive growth in balances

  • Identify opportunities, business case and implement various test & learns (and downstream monitoring) by partnering with credit strategists, marketing and marketing science, digital, risk etc.

  • Monitor and report on strategy effectiveness and KPI outcomes relative to expectations, deliver insights on opportunities, and preparing executive level presentations.

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

  • Prior experience in product management and/or credit strategy & modeling

  • Strategic Mindset - ability to think strategically, integrate information from multiple sources and synthesize complex issues

  • Advance experience in analytics and developing data driven strategies

  • Strong ability to achieve results in the context of complexity, ambiguity and constant change

  • Highly organized with ability to multitask and shift priorities

  • Excellent critical thinking skills with ability to resolve issues through innovative solutions

  • Well-developed interpersonal and influencing skills to build and maintain effective working relationships and elicit cooperation from internal partners

  • Excellent communication skills (listening, understanding and responding)

  • Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint

Nice to have:

  • Cards Knowledge – understanding of key credit card business drivers and operations

  • Experience in a marketing related environment.

  • Proficient in SQL / SAS
