Job Description

As Director, Communications, you will play a critical role in shaping the voice of the RBC Advice Centre, Direct Investing Contact Centre (ACDI) senior executive, oversight in crafting high-impact messages that resonate with internal and external audiences. This role also responsible for the ACDI Communication & Events Strategy, leading a team that support ACDI and broader Digital and Distribution Transformation (DPD) initiatives and high-stake engagements like Townhalls and conferences. Collaborating with corporate communications, strategy teams, and business leaders, you will ensure communication and change management methods and content are strategically aligned and designed to drive leaders and employee engagement. Your work will directly contribute to inspiring employees, engaging stakeholders, and advancing RBC's strategic vision in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

What will you do?

  • Leads a team of communication and event specialists supporting written and virtual communication assets, including in person and virtual events for senior executive and senior leaders across ACDI and broader DPD audiences.
  • Accountable to develop the ACDI communication and event strategy roadmap, ensure timely execution of deliverable and measure monitor to achieve desired outcomes
  • Accountable to support Business Continuity for ACDI audience.
  • Partner with corporate communications, strategy teams, and business leaders to ensure messaging aligns with organizational goals and priorities.
  • Oversee edit and refine materials to reflect executives' personal voice, delivery style, and thought leadership, ensuring authenticity and resonance.
  • Ensures library of core messages, proof points, and quotable remarks for consistent use across communications.
  • Manage a high volume of requests while maintaining exceptional quality and strategic focus in a fast-paced environment

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

  • Proven experience managing a strategic communication and change management plan supporting a diverse audience
  • Proven experience in speechwriting, executive communications, or a related field.
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to craft clear, compelling, and audience-tailored messages.
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills, with a track record of working effectively with senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to adapt tone and style while maintaining strategic alignment and organizational consistency.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

Nice to have:

  • Experience in financial services or a regulated industry.
  • Familiarity with RBC's brand voice and strategic priorities.
