What is the opportunity?

The RBC Wealth Management Canada (WMC) Communications team is looking for a Junior Content Designer with 1-3 years of experience to help shape how our employees engage with firm content through our intranet sites (DSnet and CounselNet). You'll help ensure that advisors can find, understand, and action information required to do their jobs and serve their clients. In short: you'll use content to digitally connect with our employees, so they can find information efficiently and concentrate on what truly matters.

What will you do?

  • Contribute to the usability of our intranet sites and develop expertise in digital content
  • Work with business partners and members of the WMC Communications team to support employee engagement communication strategies
  • Learn and apply stakeholder management skills in discussions about digital content strategies
  • Use strong writing skills to review, understand, and edit business concepts, editing for plain language and digital content standards
  • Assist with information architecture; learning how pages fit into our sitemap structure
  • Support the SEO strategy implementation for our internal websites
  • Apply the principles of inclusive design, accessibility, and French language laws in content design
  • Perform content audits with guidance from senior team members
  • Use tools such as Google Analytics to monitor content traffic and effectiveness

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have

  • A post-secondary education, ideally with a university degree or college diploma
  • 1-3 years of writing for web experience in marketing, communications, or UX
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically
  • Proficiency in WordPress
  • Good stakeholder management skills and the ability to build relationships
  • A portfolio of work samples demonstrating content design experience
  • Nice to Have

  • Understanding of the design thinking methodology
  • Familiarity with Wrike (or other project management platforms), JIRA, and Figma
  • Working knowledge of accessibility standards and methods to address them
  • Facility in French

Compensation for this position (including salary and discretionary/variable payments) will be determined by factors, including but not limited to candidate's experience, skills, registration status, performance, individual goals, market conditions, and business needs.

Pay Range

The expected pay range for this position is:

$70,000.00 - $95,000.00
