What is the opportunity?

We are looking for an eager and high performing individual to take on the role of Director, Non-Registered Plans, Savings & Investments. In this role, you will be responsible for managing non-registered investment plans distributed through the branch network, inclusive of managing profit and loss, monitoring the competitive environment and market share, innovating the product suite, and ensuring a delightful client experience. You will work closely with all members of the Savings & Investments (S&I) team and numerous partners, including Global Asset Management (GAM), Retail Enablement, Finance, Technology, Operations, and Marketing. This is a high impact opportunity where the candidate directly works on how RBC competes in the mutual fund and investments industry.

What will you do?

Non-registered Plan Management

  • Develop and provide subject matter expertise on all branch distributed non-registered plans

  • Monitor business performance and recommend options to maximize performance

  • Prepare forecasts to set performance expectations and gauge progress towards goals

  • Create a roadmap of product improvements to create a delightful branch investments client experience

  • Collaborate with GAM, S&I Acquisition, Retention, Distribution team, and other key partners (including the Investments Mega Journey, Sales, Operations, and Finance) to deliver initiatives and achieve goals

  • Deliver strategy and initiative recommendations and updates to Savings and Investments leadership

Risk management

  • Triage and manage client escalations and remediations

  • Support initiatives and ongoing activities to meet all Royal Mutual Fund Inc. (RMFI) compliance and regulatory requirements

  • Development, maintain, and support an effective control environment

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

  • Ability to quickly understand investments products, business dynamics, and problems

  • Ability to produce analysis on a variety of topics (problem solving, performance, product development, etc.)

  • Strong communication skills, including creating presentation materials for senior audiences, preparing thoughtful analysis, making recommendations, and debating courses of actions

  • Ability to create financial models and forecasts

  • Project management or coordination skills & experience

  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed organization to deliver outcomes

  • Undergraduate University Degree

Nice to have:

  • MBA or Math degree

  • Experience in financial planning or supporting investments clients

  • Expertise in RBC distribution channels, strategies, and methods

  • Experience developing and leading people
