(One-Year Contractual Position)

DUTIES
The Coordinator, Finance and Administration will be responsible for providing financial, administrative, and operational support to the Director of Innovation and Entrepreneurship and the staff of the Research Innovation Office (RIO). Key duties include:
- Managing a variety of financial and administrative services for the RIO office, such as budget management and updates for the Vice-President (Research) and Springboard Atlantic.
- Preparing claims for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency and responding to audit requests.
- Maintaining comprehensive records of departmental files, finances, travel forms, and purchasing activities.
- Preparing and analyzing financial reports and metrics, journal entries, purchase orders; reconciling monthly statements, and investigating discrepancies.
- Coordinating human resources and labour relations activities, including leave management, payroll analysis, and staff recruitment.
- Participating in the development and implementation of office procedures, coordinating events, and providing administrative support for RIO's programming.
- Performing general administrative duties and required follow-up; arranging meetings and travel; acting as a liaison with other departments and patent agencies; and responding to inquiries from the general public.
- Ensuring accurate and complete entry and maintenance of data in the ROMEO research information system; and creating reports and communications from ROMEO.
- Performing other related duties as required.
RIO is a hybrid office, and this position is included under Memorial's Remote Work Arrangements (RWAs).
QUALIFICATIONS
Considerable experience (3-5 years) in progressively responsible administrative roles; completion of coursework towards an undergraduate degree in business administration or related field is required; or an equivalent combination of experience and training may be considered. The ideal candidate will have financial and administrative experience, including budget preparation, data compilation and analysis, staff recruitment, and leave management; knowledge of university policies, procedures and regulations; strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills; attention to detail; the ability to work independently; and proficiency in the Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint). Experience working with Banner Administration System (Finance and HR) is considered an asset.
SALARY $57,336 - $67,257 per annum (Non- Bargaining)
