Your Contribution
As a Field Technician, you will work in collaboration with the Instrumentation and Noise and Vibration Monitoring teams
Your main responsibilities will be:
  • In this entry level position, you will be providing pre-construction and pre-blast surveys. Surveys are completed prior to the commencement of blasting and construction to record the existing conditions of buildings and structures. These surveys are carried out in a predetermined area in order to protect building owners, as well as contractors, in the event of a damage claim resulting from construction or blasting activities
  • You will also provide noise and vibration services to the construction, demolition, mining, pipeline, energy and public service sectors
  • Provide on-site noise and vibration monitoring, overpressure and hydrostatic pressure monitoring for construction, blasting and mining activities to ensure compliance with noise and vibration governing regulations
  • Conduct site visits and provide acoustical and vibration testing prior to the commencement of construction activities to establish background limits
  • Measure vibration levels in building elements, watermains and gas lines and measure ambient sound levels
  • Conduct damage claim investigations, in conjunction with field investigations such as pre-blast surveys and vibration monitoring
  • Provide maintenance for Englobes fleet of monitoring equipment, changing batteries, performing calibrations and completing installation/relocations/removals
  • Apply and promote Englobe's health and safety rules

Your Profile
  • Degree or Diploma in engineering, environmental, or technology-based field an asset (ie CET, EIT, etc) but not necessary, this is an entry level position
  • Valid provincial driver's license and access to reliable transportation
  • Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Comfortable working outside or onsite for majority of workday; this job is upwards of 80-90% in the field
  • Knowledgeable with Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Excel and Teams)
