MPE, a division of Englobe is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Intermediate Electrical Drafting Technologist to join our Saskatoon office. The successful candidate will pay a key role in supporting our electrical engineering team by preparing high quality drawings, documentation and technical deliverables across various commercial, industrial and institutional projects.

This role is ideal for a self-directed professional with a strong drafting expertise, excellent problem-solving abilities and a passion for accuracy, collaboration and continuous improvement.

Your main responsibilities

  • Develop and manage detailed electrical drawings using AutoCAD and Revit
  • Interpret and translate engineer markups, sketches, design notes, and specifications into accurate, professional drawings.
  • Collaborate with electrical engineers, project managers, and fellow technologists to support project deliverables.
  • Coordinate drawing requirements with other disciplines, including mechanical, architectural, civil, and structural teams.
  • Apply knowledge of applicable codes and standards (e.g., Canadian Electrical Code, building codes, accessibility requirements) in drafting work.
  • Ensure that drafting practices align with internal quality management systems and client specifications.
  • Identify design or coordination conflicts early and propose solutions or clarifying questions to the engineering team.
  • Assist engineers in performing layout verifications, load checks, and equipment space coordination where drafting input is required.
  • Update drawings based on field observations and contractor feedback .

  • Applicants must hold a diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution and experience with AutoCAD specializing in Electrical Design.
  • 5-10 years of professional drafting experience within consulting engineering or construction environments.
  • Eligibility for membership in TPSK;
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD; Autodesk Revit experience is a significant advantage.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Familiarity with Canadian Electrical Code and other relevant guidelines.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
