MPE, a division of Englobe, is seeking a Intermediate Civil Technologist to join our team in our Grande Prairie MPE office.

The Civil Technologist to join our Municipal Infrastructure team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to enhance their career through diverse and challenging projects while working in a supportive and dynamic environment.

This role is ideal for someone who is eager to play a key role on impactful projects, interact directly with clients and contractors, and contribute to expanding our presence in the Grande Prairie area. We welcome candidates with a range of experience levels, from Intermediate to Senior, and will tailor the role to align with the strengths and experience of the successful applicant.

Your main responsibilities

  • Perform general project duties including preparing cost estimates, design drawings, specifications, and contract documents, under the supervision of a Senior Engineer or Technologist
  • Develop, prepare, and review civil engineering design drawings, coordinating with the engineering Design Team
  • Conduct site inspections and materials testing as required
  • Manage construction contracts and liaise with clients and contractors
  • Coordinate designs and construction inspections with multiple disciplines

Typical Projects:

  • Replacement and upgrade of underground water, sewer, and stormwater infrastructure
  • Development of water treatment and pumping facilities
  • Wastewater collection, pumping, and treatment facilities
  • Infrastructure assessments and studies
  • Road Rehabilitation

What makes you unique

  • Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology from an accredited institution
  • Member or eligibility for membership in ASET
  • 3-5 years of municipal civil engineering experience, including but not limited to:
  • (Water Distribution Systems, Wastewater Collection Systems, Stormwater Management Systems, Site Grading, Transportation)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of general construction methods
  • Strong presentation, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and detail-oriented
  • Proficiency with Civil3D software
