Federal Administered Programs, specializes in the payment of Federal benefits related to health needs such as Ambulances Services, Medical Supplies, Hospital Beds, etc. As a member of the Federal Claims team the incumbent will communicate with the providers of services and VAC, CF or RCMP staff by telephone and in writing regarding payment of claims as well as be accountable for the adjudication of FAP benefit claims received by Medavie Blue Cross
- Reviews, analyzes, investigates and authorizes payment of health and dental claims within guidelines;
- Corresponds with claimants or agents;
- Handle and process claims transactions accurately and efficiently;
- Use business knowledge and experience to solve routine problems;
- Produce clear and effective written materials.
Education : Post-secondary education in a related field.
Work Experience : Minimum 6 months work experience in an office environment.
Other Qualifications : Knowledge of claims processing, eligibility and claims systems, as well as medical terminology is considered an asset.
Computer Skills : Experience working with the Microsoft Office Suite and Lotus Notes.
Language Skills : Are proficient in English, being bilingual is a strong asset.
