Job Title: Senior AssociateJob ID: AS5590194628Location: North York, ONOverview:Our client is looking for a dynamic Associate to join their Assurance team. You will have the opportunity to work as a team member on client engagements in a growing mid-sized firm where you would learn the fundamentals of audit, accounting and tax. You will also have the opportunity to work on publicly listed entity audits, learning the nuances of preparing audit communications to the board of directors. What you will be doing:

• Provide timely, high quality client service that meets or exceeds client expectations including coordinating audits of financial statements, related disclosures, and other client deliverables
• Demonstrate experience and ability to work on various engagements
• Collaborate with the engagement senior/manager and partners on engagement approach and execute on the plan using a risk-based approach
• Recognize industry-specific and general accounting and auditing issues, including revenue recognition, financial instruments, and deferred tax provisions, etc.
• Provide insightful feedback on financial statements and prepare other client deliverables such as board communications, deficiency letters, management letters, etc.
• Supervise associates on engagement teams and function as an in-charge, monitoring and reporting regarding productivity and adherence to work plan and budget
• Anticipate and address client concerns and escalate issues as they arise
• Interact with clients to help ensure the information flow from client to audit team and vice versa is efficient
• Identify and communicate significant accounting and auditing matters to seniors/managers and partner on engagement
• Identify performance improvement opportunities for team members
• Manage time appropriately across multiple projects

What you must have:

• 1 – 3 years of current or recent experience in a public accounting environment
• CPA Certification or demonstrated progress towards obtaining CPA certification
