As a leading edge IT consulting firm, Avocette Technologies is growing and has an exciting 12 month full time contract plus possible extension opportunity for a Senior Scrum Master to join our client in the greater Vancouver area remotely. We work with a wide range of clients including government and crown corporations, community services agencies, healthcare providers, and professional services organizations. Please note, both Avocette Technologies and our client will not cover relocation costs

Experience with various levels of Government (provincial and local), Crown Corporations and Healthcare would be considered highly desirable but not mandatory.

The Scrum Master is responsible for the following:

1. Delivering projects of varying complexity and size and for ensuring support of the production applications meet the expected service levels of our customers
2. Guiding and coaching product owners and development teams through story development, iterations, retrospectives, product backlog management and decision making
3. Using specialist knowledge of agile and scrum to help teams deliver and continuously improve their product quality, velocity of delivery and professional development
4. Helping to remove any impediments blocking progress of product delivery

Specific Responsibilities and Deliverables:

The candidate is expected to deliver ad-hoc Agile Planning using Azure DevOps workshops, work with and coordinate empower multiple operational common services teams, and collaborate with our Synergy Center of Enablement to continuously improve our Agile, Kanban, and DevOps mindsets.

Mandatory Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) majors and 6+ years direct hands-on experience in the agile practice.
2. Of the 6+ years, 4+ years of relevant experience with agile methodologies and DevOps environments
3. Of the 6+ years, 2+ years experience developing/delivery in the cloud
4. Of the 6+ years, 4+ years of work experience in IT involving continuous process improvement, project management, business requirements and analysis, and/or technical proficiency
5. Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent certification such as CSPO, CSD, CSP, or PMI-ACP, SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), CDAP, CLP.
6. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
7. Practical experience with Azure DevOps services, especially Azure Boards.
8. Practical knowledge of working with operational common services teams.
