As a leading edge IT consulting firm, Avocette Technologies is growing and has an exciting 12 month full time contract plus possible extension opportunity for a Senior Software Developer to join our client in the greater Vancouver area remotely. We work with a wide range of clients including government and crown corporations, community services agencies, healthcare providers, and professional services organizations. Please note, both Avocette Technologies and our client will not cover relocation costs
Experience with various levels of Government (provincial and local), Crown Corporations and Healthcare would be considered highly desirable but not mandatory.
The Senior Software Developer is responsible for developing one or more parts of application systems (systems of engagement and/or systems of record) and integration with other systems, including designing it to fit into the architecture, prototyping the user interface, implementing, unit-testing, and integrating the components that are part of the solution.
Specific Responsibilities and Deliverables:
The Senior Software Developer is typically assigned to high complexity work. This position fully participates in activities that support the team's delivery and continuous improvement through assisting other roles with their work, mentoring and promoting a respectful and collaborative culture.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science or STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) and 6-9 years of equivalent work experience in IT.
- Of the 6-9 years, a minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience with agile methodologies and cloud, a DevOps environment, IT involving continuous process improvement, IT development, unit testing, production support and problem resolution, analysis, and/or technical proficiency.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Significant experience in leading the development cycle (design, develop, integrate, test, prototype)
- Significant experience participating in all activities that support team delivery
- Ability to work with highly complex and integrated environments
- Extensive experience using agile and devops tools, techniques and processes
- Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) training and certification like SAFe Practitioner, or willingness to take the course and obtain certification within 2 months from commencement of work
- Experience with Microsoft Stack with technologies and frameworks like .Net, C#, JavaScript, SQL, JQuery, Angular 6 and up, HTML, CSS, XUnit, NUnit, Entity Framework, TDD, Regis Cache, Git. Exposure to microservices is preferred.
