Known for their collaborative approach and strong project pipeline, they are now looking to add a Preconstruction Manager to their leadership team to oversee and drive the early stages of their construction projects.
Position Overview
The Preconstruction Manager will oversee all preconstruction activities, working closely with internal stakeholders, consultants, clients, and subcontractors to ensure that projects are thoroughly planned and scoped before execution. The successful candidate will have strong experience in the ICI sector, excellent leadership and communication skills, and a deep understanding of estimating, budgeting, scheduling, and design coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the preconstruction process from concept through to project hand-off
Coordinate and oversee estimating, budgeting, and bid preparation activities in collaboration with the Estimating team
Engage early with clients, consultants, and design teams to align project scope, budget, and timelines
Evaluate drawings and specifications to identify opportunities, risks, and potential value engineering solutions
Develop and maintain preconstruction schedules in coordination with internal teams
Facilitate constructability reviews and provide input into design development
Lead RFP/RFQ processes and manage relationships with subcontractors and suppliers
Work closely with project managers to ensure seamless transition into construction phase
Provide strategic input into procurement, cost control, and risk management planning
Qualifications
7+ years of experience in the ICI construction industry, with at least 3 years in a preconstruction or senior estimating capacity
Strong technical knowledge of construction practices, building systems, and ICI project delivery methods
Proven ability to lead teams, communicate effectively with clients and consultants, and drive early project planning
Proficiency in estimating and project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Procore, Bluebeam, PlanSwift)
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
A diploma or degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field
LEED or PMP certification is considered an asset
