Hours: Availability from 10:00am 5pm (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday)
Pay rate: $20.00 + pay equity
Job Type: Seasonal, part-time

Position summary:
The BGC Albion Club Youth Summer Day Camp Worker will assist in the planning and implementation of program activities, trainings, trips and events for youth between 13-18 years old who live in north Etobicoke.

Accountability:
Staff are expected to be willing, when requested, to explain the reasons for a decision or action to other staff or community members, particularly when others are affected by the decision or action. When affected by programming, policies and procedures, staffs are expected to offer information and opinions when relevant for the development of new or changing services, policies and procedures.

Supervised by:
BGC Youth Coordinators
BGC Child/Youth Manager

Responsibilities

1. Program Implementation:
Develop and deliver age-appropriate activities for youth.
Serve as a mentor and role model for campers, promoting positive behavior, cooperation, and respect among peers.
Communicate effectively with campers, parents, and fellow staff members, addressing any concerns or issues in a timely and professional manner.
Assist with daily camp operations, including setup and cleanup, snack distribution, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in camp areas.
Assist in establishing a positive, creative, emotionally and intellectually stimulating environment within the BGC Albion programs.
Assist in teaching and model to childrens appropriate social interactions and problem solving skills
Maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment.
Assist in maintaining program supplies.
2. Staff and Team Maintenance
Report any difficulties/challenges and emergencies to the Site Lead/Coordinator in a timely manner
Work cooperatively with other members of the team in the planning and delivery of activities, events and trips.
Identify training needs.
Attend all team and staff meetings.

3. Administration
Assist in recording and maintaining all participant information in Kidtrax
Maintain the attendance records and all relevant information on site.
Record, maintain and submit incident reports as required.
Submit timesheets on time

4. Meetings
Attend and actively participate in the following.

o BGC staff meetings
o Any other special event meetings

Qualifications
Currently in a degree or diploma programs in Child and Youth, Recreation and Leisure program or similar programs
Experience working with culturally diverse children
Experience supervising and providing leadership support to campers
Good communication skills (written and verbal English)
Knowledge of the Rexdale community is an asset

Requirements
Highfive Certificate (Principal of Healthy Child Development)
Proof of police clearance
Current Emergency First Aid Certificate
Must be able to attend in person training from June 30 to July 4, 2025 from 9:30am 5:00pm.
