Lawson Lundell LLP is currently seeking a competent and knowledgeable Real Estate Legal Administrative Assistant to join our busy Real Estate group, in our Calgary office, to cover a 1-year Parental Leave with the possibility of an extension.

Standard Responsibilities

  • Knowledge and experience to prepare all legal documents required for sale, purchase, and mortgage financing transactions from start to finish. This will include reporting to clients and banks.
  • Request cheques, bank transfers, and paying in money received, as appropriate.
  • Coordinate with clients, real estate agents, lenders, and other parties to ensure a smooth transaction process.
  • Working closely with a senior paralegal and supporting team members
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, ensuring compliance with legal and procedural requirements including limitation dates.
  • Collaborate with team members to share knowledge, insights, and best practices for continuous improvement.
  • Perform administrative duties specific to the team's needs
  • Manage billings for the various lawyers
  • Preparing closing books relating to transactions

Qualifications

  • Solid understanding of Real Estate conveyancing, with a minimum of two years of direct experience working in real estate.
  • Experience with Alberta Land Titles and PPSA searches is an asset
  • Excels in Microsoft Office
  • Attention to detail a must
  • Experience with general due diligence
