The Role:
  • Reporting to the CFO, the VP of Finance will be responsible for oversight of all accounting cycles, including financial reporting, budgeting and cash management.
  • Work with senior management on expansion and growth initiatives by participating in due diligence and cost benefit analysis.
  • Improve the financial reporting timelines and processes to achieve accurate and timely financials.
  • Provide direction and control over cost / expense allocations for all divisions.

Responsibilities
Finance and Accounting Leadership
  • Ensure compliance in accounting departments and reporting systems with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements by maintaining internal controls.
  • Lead the audit team and liaison with bankers and auditors.
  • Present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; monitor progress and changes and keep GM and CFO abreast of the company's financial status.
  • Coordinate the annual preparation of budgets for all business entities and provide monthly variance feedback and analytics to the leadership team.
  • Manage cash flow to maintain adequate working capital and compliance with bank governance.
  • Oversee, track and report on the manufacture loyalty and rebate programs.
  • Manage the capital asset expenditure budget by comparing and reporting actual purchases to the approved spending budget.
  • Maintain existing accounting policies and procedures. Develop new policies as required.
  • Leverage strengths of the current finance department, help to clarify roles and responsibilities in order to maximize and reach optimal individual and organizational goals

Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in business accounting with a CPA Designation
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior accounting role managing a team
  • Solid experience managing all areas of accounting as well as the management of audit and compliance activities
  • Keen analytic, organization and problem-solving skills that allows for strategic and action driven report interpretation
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; experience in effectively communicating key data, including presentations to senior management, Board members or other outside partners
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Office and accounting software)
