POSITION: Housekeeper (including meal serving) – Casual

JOB TYPE: These two positions are temporary until March 31, 2025, but may be extended based on funding approval.

COMPENSATION: $22.28/hour

POSITION SUMMARY:

This person will be responsible to clean tenant units' weekly (scheduled days), daily and weekly cleaning duties, serve lunch and dinner daily, dishes, clean dining room after meals.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Clean tenant units weekly. This includes: vacuuming, washing floors, spot cleaning walls, baseboards and window sills, washroom, checking refrigerator, stove, counters, changing and laundering of bedding and linens
  • Prepare dining area for meals – set tables, pour drinks
  • Serve meals in dining room and/or deliver to tenants units
  • Clear dishes, tables, left over food
  • Clean and disinfect dining and kitchen area, run dishes through dishwasher and put away
  • Inform the Team Lead or Site Manager when cleaning supplies are low
  • Assist with recreation activities (if needed and time permits)
  • Assist with weekly, seasonal and annual cleaning duties of the common areas and tenant units or when a tenant moves out.
  • Other related duties as assigned by Manager

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

  • Grade 10 education

Knowledge and Experience

  • Knowledge of good customer service techniques

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to work effectively as a team member
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English
  • Ability to communicate professionally and respectfully with all people
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional and appropriate relationships with residents and/or their families/representatives
  • Ability to comply with safe work practices and food safe handling practices
  • Possess good listening, problem solving and communication skills
