Working as a Senior Project Manager, you will oversee the execution of Rail traction and major electrical distribution projects within the ABB Electrification Business Canada leading the project team, establishing the approach, and overseeing hand-over, planning, and monitoring and control activities.In this role, you will maintain and enhance customer satisfaction by providing excellent service at all stages of the project, as well as guiding, coaching, and developing the skills and knowledge of the project team.

Your responsibilities
  • Defining project plan documents in relation to scope, budget, schedule and risk management
  • Monitoring project implementation to ensure best practices in terms of costs, resource efficiency, risk management and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders, effectively communicating with them and acting as the key contact for the customer
  • Managing the project according to agreed requirements, ensuring that all targets are met, and that relevant guidelines are followed
  • Monitoring and controlling project financials, overseeing project invoicing status, costs, expenses and cash flow
  • Driving the formal acceptance of the project, contract close-out and acknowledgement by the customer
  • Following PMO processes throughout project management phases and applying ABB execution tools and reporting guidelines.
Your background
  • 10 years of experience in project management with a minimum of 7 years work as Senior project manager for Electrical distribution projects (RAIL traction and E-Houses) .
  • Demonstrated experience in management of project scope, cost, schedules, vendors/subcontractors and successful delivery of RAIL traction and E-house projects.
  • Sound knowledge of DC Rail switchgear and transformers and the Electric distribution market.
  • Knowledge of SAP, MS Projects, MS Office applications.
  • Management experience in project execution, with strong, well-developed communication, influencing and coaching skills.
  • A PMP certification and Engineering degree in Electrical field.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skill French & English. French is required. English is also required to communicate with customers outside Quebec on a regular basis.
