Your responsibilities
  • This position focuses on the power systems and control aspects, hardware, and software, of high-power rectifier projects. It requires a good overall understanding of the entire electrical network and associated equipment.
  • Software understanding and programming experience.
  • Participate in factory acceptance tests at vendors facilities, commissioning (Start-up) and Service High Power Rectifier Systems.
  • coordination with the customer, the internal engineering team, suppliers of equipment & ser-vices, and other stakeholders involved in the project.
  • Develop the relevant engineering deliverables, such as, equipment purchase specifications, draw-ings, bill of material, electrical diagrams, test procedures, electrical studies and records.
  • The position requires successful completion of assigned projects on time and within budgetary constraints, in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Provide training to customers.
  • Support sales activities in the preparation of RFQ's and bid evaluations & analysis.
Your background
  • Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering with 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Availability to travel in Canada and USA.
  • Member of OIQ.
  • Familiar with national codes and standards.
  • E3 Zuken and/or AutoCAD experience is an asset.
  • Power study tools experience (ETAP, Easy Power, Cyme, etc) is an asset.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, vendors and ABB personnel in English and French.
  • Independent and proactive thinker.
  • Possess a sense of urgency/drive for results.
