ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF SPECIALIST II (BAND LEVEL 7)

School of Music

(23-Month Contractual Position)

The University will consider applications from qualified permanent staff who may be interested in a secondment, subject to departmental approval

DUTIES

The Administrative Staff Specialist II will be responsible for providing comprehensive financial and administrative support to the Senior Administrative Officer of the School of Music. Duties include administering a variety of financial and administrative processes; reconciling and monitoring operating, research, grant, and special purpose funds; coordinating the receipt, review, processing, and recording of purchasing, accounting, payroll, and human resource documentation; assisting with budget planning, preparation, and monitoring activities; preparing financial analyses, reports, and projections to support operational and strategic decision-making; monitoring and interpreting financial and administrative data; liaising with central administrative units regarding policies, procedures, and compliance requirements; identifying opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiencies; supporting special projects and initiatives; and performing other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience (3-5 years) in progressively responsible administrative positions; completion of most university coursework toward an undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related area is required; or an equivalent combination of experience and training may be considered. The ideal candidate will have experience with financial administration, purchasing, budgeting, and human resource processes; demonstrated analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills; experience preparing and interpreting financial reports; strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. The successful applicant is expected to have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders; knowledge of university policies and procedures; proficiency with enterprise financial and human resource information systems, preferably Banner; and advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

SALARY $61,099 - $71,679 per annum (Non-Bargaining)
